Job summary

Primary Care 24 is a not-for-profit social enterprise delivering NHS contracts. We are seeking highly skilled GPs to join our bank workforce for opportunities within Intermediate Care Beds, supporting our Southport sites.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate safe admission, rehabilitation and discharge, provide medical oversight, conduct ward rounds, and develop comprehensive management plans with patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• Must have GMC registration and licence to practice.
• Up-to-date Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Understanding of clinical risk management and governance.
• Ability to take independent clinical decisions and seek advice when needed.
• Ability to manage time/workload in line with SLAs; strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient English communication; clear written and spoken ability.
• Competent with IT systems and clinical software.

Responsibilities

• Work with MDT to facilitate safe admission, rehabilitation and discharge.
• Provide medical oversight for assessment, treatment and management.
• Conduct ward rounds independently and with colleagues.
• Complete clinical reviews and summarise treatment history.
• Formulate management plans focused on patient-centred care.
• Refer to other disciplines and prescribe medications as needed.

Job summary

Are you a GP? Primary Care 24 (PC24) are seeking highly skilled and motivated GPs to join our bank workforce with opportunities within Intermediate Care Beds, supporting our Southport sites.

Main duties of the job

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate the safe and timely admission, rehabilitation and discharge of patients
• Provide medical oversight and support for the assessment, treatment and management of patients within the PC24 bed base.
• Conducting ward rounds both independently and with wider MDT colleagues
• Completing clinical reviews and summarising patients current and previous treatment
• Formulating comprehensive management plans with a focus on patient centred care.
• Referring to different clinical disciplines for expert opinion when required. Prescribing medication, including anticipatory medication, with careful consideration of patient needs.

Job responsibilities

• Salary: £76.43 per hour for Bank staff
• Department: Intermediate Care Beds.
• Location: Southport
• Shifts: Shifts available between our operational hours of Monday - Friday 9:00 - 17:00

Qualifications

Essential

• Full GMC Registration and licence to practice
• Up to date Enhanced DBS Certificate (we will apply for one for you if you aren't a member of the DBS Update Service)
• Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance
• Ability to take independent clinical decisions when necessary and to seek further advice from colleagues as appropriate
• Ability to manage own time and workload in line with SLAs Excellent interpersonal skills ability to communicate sensitively
• Demonstrate skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication
• Competent in the use of IT systems & Clinical Systems
