Governance Lead maternity cover
- Location: Remote, UK.
- Salary: £55K-£60K
- Hours: 21-28 hours
- Contract type: Fixed term

Governance Lead in our wider
Corporate Services Team will focus and lead on:
- Leading the Governance team to ensure that legal and regulatory compliance is maintained, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure our approach is proportionate.
This is an exciting time to join RNID as the Governance team makes a significant contribution in enabling charitable delivery supporting our strategy to make life more inclusive for the 18 million in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus.
You will be responsible for:
- Data Protection compliance across the charity, acting as our Data Protection Officer, responding to data breaches and other matters of regulatory reporting.
- Coordinating our Board and sub-committees, ensuring decision making is well informed and appropriately recorded, with excellent quarterly reporting.
- Overseeing organisational policy review and development.
- Working closely and collaborating with others across the charity to fulfil all aspects of the role, influencing others and taking an agile and proportionate approach to governance and compliance.
- Overseeing resources to accelerate and facilitate our work with corporate partners.
What You Will Be Doing
You will:
- Completing an annual review of the Charity Governance Code, and ensuring the organisation stays up to date on matters of legal and regulatory compliance.
- Working with our insurance broker to complete our annual insurance review.
- Supporting the recruitment, appointment and induction of new trustees.
- As DPO, supporting our Data Team on data protection compliance related to the implementation of our new CRM.
- Advising teams across the charity on matters of governance and compliance, as required.
You
You will have demonstratable experience of charity governance, bringing a pragmatic approach to governance and compliance, ensuring our processes are proportionate to risk.
You will have first class interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to work collaboratively, building rapport, confidence, and trust quickly, with a wide range of people, internally and externally.
You will be able to deal with highly sensitive information in a discreet and confidential way, and able to communicate clearly and concisely to staff at all levels including trustees.
