Job summary

Tempting Recruitment is assisting a client in Tendring in their search for a Democratic Services Officer to support Council, Cabinet, Committees, Sub-Committees, Working Parties and Panels with governance procedures.

The role is hybrid, paying £22.71 per hour umbrella on a temporary 1‑month contract with a possible extension. Candidates should have Local Government experience, a valid driving licence and evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

Qualifications

• Previous Local Government experience or knowledge of Local Government functions and legislation.
• You will be required to drive and have access to a car; a full driving licence is essential.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Responsibilities

• Checking draft reports against agreed standards and advising report authors on those standards.
• Collating reports from Assistant Directors, Heads of Service and other authors and preparing/publishing agendas for Council, Cabinet, Committees, Sub-Committees and Councillor-level Groups.
• Providing efficient administrative support to Council, Cabinet, Committees, Sub-Committees, Working Parties and Panels.
