Are you passionate about governance, assurance, and regulatory reporting? Join Southern Water, a leader in water and waste management services, as a Wastewater Governance & Assurance Lead. Partnering with the Wastewater Governance & Assurance Manager, you'll lead first-line assurance within the Wastewater directorate. Your expertise will develop, enhance, and maintain control systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. If you strive for excellence in regulatory Wastewater reporting, we'd love to have you on our team!
In this role, you'll collaborate with regulators during EA Alignment review meetings, analyze and reconcile data, and provide performance information including pollution forecasting and analysis to the Directorate, shareholders, regulators, and the wider Southern Water business. You will diagnose potential faults through detailed data analysis, recommend modifications, and ensure compliance by communicating effectively with field teams and resolving operational issues. This role is vital in reducing Wastewater Compliance Failures and Pollution incidents, supporting Southern Water's commitment to compliance and governance.
Additionally, you'll support first-line assurance for data within Wastewater regulatory reports (e.g., the Annual Spill Report, Bathing Water, OFWAT Compliance Framework). You will facilitate assurance delivery for Wastewater regulatory commitments, ensuring compliance for internal and external reporting (OFWAT & EA), liaising with internal teams to drive actions based on assurance outcomes. Responsibilities also include responding to regulatory data requests, supporting assurance activities, and driving process improvements to support the Wastewater Directorate.
To succeed, you should have knowledge of Wastewater operational activities and environmental risks, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to produce regulatory-standard technical reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications is essential, along with strong problem-solving skills to adapt to changing business needs. If you are committed to high standards of regulatory reporting and compliance, we look forward to hearing from you.
