Job description

Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with around 300 people diagnosed every day. The Macular Society is the only charity determined to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease with world class research, and the best advice and support.

Overview

Reporting to the CEO, the Governance and executive support officer will work closely with our ambitious Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees to enable effective governance and leadership across the charity. The post holder will play an essential role in coordinating work across the organisation and helping us to Beat Macular Disease.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide high quality administrative support and diary management for the CEO.
  • Support internal communications and policy coordination.
  • Own and manage key organisational resources such as the risk register, compliance register and policy register.
  • Support complex meetings and provide governance support at Board and Committee meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees to enable effective governance and leadership.
