Job summary

SR2 is seeking an experienced Interaction Designer to work on a major public-sector digital programme. You will design clear, accessible interfaces for GOV.UK services, within a multidisciplinary team and using the GOV.UK Design System.

You will prototype with the GOV.UK Prototype Kit, validate designs with user research, and collaborate with researchers, product managers and developers to deliver accessible, standards-compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Interaction Designer in GDS-aligned teams.
• Hands-on with GOV.UK Design System and GOV.UK Prototype Kit.
• Experience designing complex public-facing digital services.
• Strong prototyping with HTML and CSS.
• Understanding accessibility standards and inclusive design.
• Experience in agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Ability to use research to justify design decisions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Design accessible, user-centred interfaces for government services.
• Create and iterate prototypes using the GOV.UK Prototype Kit.
• Apply GOV.UK design patterns within the design system.
• Translate user research into interaction designs.
• Collaborate with researchers, service designers, product managers and developers.
• Test concepts and refine solutions using evidence and stakeholder feedback.
• Communicate design decisions clearly to stakeholders.
• Ensure designs meet Government Service Standard and accessibility.
