Job summary

SR2 REC LTD in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Interaction Designer to support a major public-sector digital programme. You will design accessible, user-centred interfaces using the GOV.UK Design System and Prototype Kit within an agile, multidisciplinary team.

The role is inside IR35 with a daily rate of £350–£375, offering hybrid working: remote with ad-hoc onsite work in Coventry. Start ASAP for an initial 3-month contract with extension expected.

Qualifications

• GDS-aligned interaction design experience.
• Experience with GOV.UK Design System and GOV.UK Prototype Kit.
• Evidence of designing complex transactional or public-facing digital services.
• Strong prototyping skills, including HTML and CSS.
• Good understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive-design principles.
• Experience collaborating within agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Ability to use research evidence to inform and defend design decisions.
• Strong stakeholder-management, communication and design-playback skills.

Responsibilities

• Design accessible, user-centred interfaces for complex government digital services.
• Create and iterate prototypes using the GOV.UK Prototype Kit.
• Apply and contribute to patterns within the GOV.UK Design System.
• Translate user needs and research findings into effective interaction designs.
• Work closely with user researchers, service designers, product managers and developers.
• Test design concepts and refine solutions using evidence and stakeholder feedback.
• Communicate design decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure designs meet the Government Service Standard and accessibility requirements.
