Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager in London to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from ideation to launch. You will plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and communicate with cross-functional partners across the company.

Job description

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross‑functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.


The Health Platforms and Devices team builds innovative products and services that help our users live longer, healthier lives. We bring together the best of Google technologies and AI, health behavior science, and user‑centered design to help users organize the health and wellness data, get insight from it, and take action toward their health goals. We do this with a suite of apps, services, and health wearables. We aim to make consumer health more personal, proactive, and actionable.


Minimum qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience in program management.

  • Experience managing cross-functional software programs from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, 0 to 1, or feature deployments).


Preferred qualifications:


  • 7 years of experience in technical program management, software engineering, or a related technical delivery role.

  • Experience with consumer-focused mobile applications, large-scale digital platforms, or subscription-based products.

  • Strong technical understanding with the ability to work comfortably alongside engineers on software architecture, data pipelines, and technical dependencies.


Responsibilities:


  • Author and own comprehensive program charters and roadmaps (6+ months) for complex, cross-functional growth, subscription, and business generation initiatives. Define project scope, milestone dependencies, resource requirements, and measurable OKRs.

  • Drive the end-to-end technical delivery of app onboarding pipelines, feature discovery engines, experimentation platforms, and business generation channels. Proactively monitor progress, anticipate roadblocks, and manage risk mitigation strategies.

  • Act as the central point of contact to align executive cross-functional stakeholders (Engineering, Product, UX, Data Science, and Marketing). Facilitate consensus on complex technical and product tradeoffs, drive decision-making and manage escalations.

  • Partner closely with engineering teams to perform technical due diligence evaluate architectural scope, and leverage AI/ML technologies and data infrastructure to accelerate program execution and optimize user pathways at scale.
