Job summary

Teksystems is seeking a Golang Engineer II to join the Global Loyalty & Benefits Platform team on a contract basis. You will work in a Scrum-based engineering squad developing backend services, microservices, and customer journeys within a regulated financial-services environment.

The role is based in Burgess Hill, UK, with three days per week in the office. You will contribute to high-volume, enterprise-scale systems, applying modern backend engineering practices, asynchronous messaging, APIs,

Qualifications

• Backend engineering experience required.
• Golang proficiency essential.
• Experience building backend microservices and REST APIs.
• Experience with asynchronous messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• CI/CD experience and automated testing.
• Git-based version control experience.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
• Office presence in Burgess Hill three days a week.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and microservices.
• Build REST APIs and service integrations using Golang.
• Implement asynchronous communication with Kafka/RabbitMQ.
• Write automated tests across unit to integration levels.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers and product stakeholders.
• Support applications through development, testing, deployment, and production.

Job description

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Commercial backend software engineering experience
• Experience with Golang; the job title specifies Golang language only
• Experience developing backend microservices and REST APIs
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or comparable asynchronous messaging technologies
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD
• Experience with Git-based version control
• Experience delivering work in an Agile or Scrum environment
• Ability to attend our Burgess Hill office three days per week
• Skills in backend engineering, CI/CD, Git, Agile, Kafka, SQL, Docker, and gRPC
