Job summary

Areti Group is seeking two API Developers for a fully remote SaaS role at an exciting growth stage. You will design and build high-quality APIs and backend services, and help move legacy PHP/Symfony functionality into Go within a modern AWS-based cloud.

You’ll work in an agile team, tackle scalability and architectural challenges, review code, and contribute to technical direction. This remote role includes monthly meetups with fully expensed travel and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial software engineering experience.
• Excellent API and backend engineering knowledge.
• Experience with AWS or modern cloud environments.
• Understanding of scalable and service-based architectures.
• Strong automated testing and software quality practices.
• Experience working in modern Agile engineering teams.
• Confidence contributing to technical and architectural discussions.
• Experience modernising or evolving existing technology would be hugely valuable.
• A pragmatic, collaborative approach to engineering.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building high-quality APIs and backend services
• Helping transition legacy functionality from PHP/Symfony into Go
• Building technology capable of supporting rapid growth and international expansion
• Working with modern AWS cloud infrastructure
• Working across Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD
• Using logs, metrics and monitoring to continuously improve production systems
• Building clean, maintainable and well-tested software
• Solving performance, scalability and reliability challenges
• Contributing to architecture and technical direction
• Reviewing code and sharing knowledge with other engineers
• Improving engineering practices and developer experience
• Using modern AI development tools to improve how software is built
