Tate is seeking an HR Consultant with substantial GLPC Job Evaluation Scheme expertise to lead and shape job evaluation activity for a Bristol-based local authority project. The role involves advising on role design, grading outcomes and maintaining evaluation documentation.

The position is full-time and permanent, with a largely remote setup and a weekly office presence in Bristol. Strong analytical and policy knowledge are essential to support fair, compliant people practices.

Qualifications

• Substantial expertise in applying the GLPC Job Evaluation Scheme.
• Experience undertaking Job Evaluations as a panel member or chair.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate evaluation outcomes clearly and confidently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support job evaluation activity, ensuring roles are assessed fairly and consistently.
• Advise managers on role design, grading outcomes and job evaluation processes.
• Support the maintenance and development of job evaluation frameworks and documentation.
• Use role and workforce data to inform pay, grading and organisational decisions.
• Ensure employment practices remain fair, accessible and aligned with legislation and good practice.
• Contribute to learning resources and training.
• Act as a key HR link with managers to promote fair people practices.
