Job summary

Harrington Starr in London is seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst to join the Technology team and support business-critical trading applications used across global operations.

This role involves second- and third-line support, incident management, and collaboration with development, infrastructure and vendors to drive improvements within ITIL-aligned processes and a fast-paced trading environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Experience in an Application Support or Production Support role within Financial Services.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Oracle.
• Scripting experience using PowerShell or Python.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VBA.
• Experience with ITIL service management and change processes.
• Knowledge of trading, clearing or settlement applications.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide second- and third-line support for business-critical applications.
• Manage incidents, service requests and problems through to resolution.
• Support front-office trading, market data, settlement and clearing applications.
• Work with development teams to investigate issues and implement enhancements.
• Support the implementation of new systems and vendor upgrades.
• Coordinate technical client onboarding activities.
• Produce and maintain accurate technical and process documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and system performance.
• Support exchange reporting and compliance activities.
• Work within ITIL service management and change management frameworks.
• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, technology teams and external vendors.
