Job summary

We are currently supporting a well-established and growing business in the recruitment of an experienced International Trade Lead to join its busy operations and administration team.

This is a varied role for someone with a strong background in export administration, international shipping and customs processes, who enjoys working across different areas of a business and taking ownership of the smooth coordination of international orders.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in export, import or international trade administration.
• Good understanding of international shipping and customs processes.
• Knowledge of customs documentation and commodity codes.
• Experience dealing with freight, logistics providers or shipping partners.
• Customer-facing administrative experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and methodical documentation.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Good numerical and analytical ability.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
• A flexible approach and ability to manage changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day import and export administration.
• Preparing and checking relevant shipping and commercial documentation.
• Coordinating customs clearance requirements and ensuring documentation is completed accurately.
• Maintaining accurate records relating to international shipments and deliveries.
• Liaising with customers, logistics providers and external partners to coordinate shipments.
• Monitoring the progress of orders and keeping relevant stakeholders informed.
• Responding to customer enquiries and providing updates on orders and deliveries.
• Supporting general customer service activities by telephone and email.
• Coordinating the preparation of goods and documentation for dispatch.
• Supporting purchasing and procurement processes, including raising purchase orders.
• Maintaining internal systems, spreadsheets and databases.
• Ensuring administrative records are accurate, organised and up to date.
• Providing general administrative support across the wider team.
• Assisting with additional duties and projects as required.
