Job summary

SmartestEnergy is seeking a Global Risk Manager to shape and strengthen the Group’s risk framework across UK, US, Australia and Japan. You will oversee risk policies and governance, partnering with senior stakeholders in Commercial, Trading, Finance and Operations.

You’ll lead risk reporting, drive improvements in data and systems, and mentor Global Risk Analysts while promoting a strong risk culture across the organization.

Qualifications

• Strong risk management expertise across market, credit, operational and enterprise risk, including governance, controls, stress testing and reporting.
• Energy trading and commercial knowledge across electricity, gas, environmental products or commodity trading.
• Strong analytical and quantitative capability; experience analysing risk exposures and deriving insights with Excel/Power BI and risk systems.
• Clear communication of complex risk matters and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Leadership and continuous improvement experience; mentoring teams and driving risk process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk reporting and analytical activity across the Group.
• Contribute to strategic risk initiatives and transformation programs.
• Drive improvements to data, systems and processes in risk management.
• Lead and develop Global Risk Analysts and promote a strong risk culture across the Group.
