Job summary

AstraZeneca plc in the United Kingdom is seeking a Global Clinical Program Lead to drive late-stage respiratory clinical development. You will lead an indication-aligned cluster of studies, supervise Global Development Directors, and work cross-functionally to design, monitor and interpret data for regulatory submissions.

You will set program vision, manage risk, and liaise with health authorities, publications teams, and investigators.

Qualifications

• MD or PhD or equivalent medical/scientific qualification.
• 5–8 years of relevant clinical development experience, incl. protocol development, trial implementation and data interpretation.
• Experience in cross-functional teams within clinical development.
• Knowledge of biostatistics, global regulatory requirements, pharmacovigilance, GCP, and trial safety.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, teamwork and influencing ability.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Willingness to travel and collaborate across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical program components with accountability to the Global Clinical Head.
• Provide scientific medical input to study documents and regulatory submissions.
• Support international investigator meetings and country-level activities.
• Safety surveillance at study/program level including AE reporting.
• Contribute to publication strategy and development with GCH.
• Induct and coach new team members; line management of study physicians/scientists.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation to deliver trials across Phases IIb–IV and lifecycle.
• Coordinate responses to regulatory agencies and ethics committees.
