Job summary

Basecamp Research seeks a Global Research Program Manager to join our London team, coordinating cross-functional initiatives across Global Research, Data Science, and Science units. You will streamline partnerships, drive project delivery, and oversee tools and workflows used by field scientists and production teams.

You will report to the VP of Global Research and work with a hands-on team, ensuring data and training workflows align with our frontier AI model releases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of programme or project management within a scientific, research, or biotech organisation.
• Track record of holding scientists, field teams, and partner organisations accountable to timelines and deliverables.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear status reports and updates.
• Experience managing relationships with external vendors or partners in scientific/technical contexts.
• Scientific literacy: familiarity with genomics, sequencing workflows, and data pipelines.
• Proactive, resourceful, independent; able to navigate ambiguity in a fast-scaling startup.

Responsibilities

• External Partnership Establishment & Efficiency: manage relationships with external technical and scientific partners; coordinate joint projects with collaborators; ensure partnerships align with goals.
• Own operational coordination between Global Research and external sequencing providers; track samples, timelines, and visibility of pipeline batches.
• Flag quality or capacity issues early and work with providers to resolve blockers.
• As sequencing volume scales, ensure smooth handoffs between field, production, and providers.
• Scientific Output: track publications for each collaboration; ensure data return and capacity commitments; coordinate publication timelines across collaborations; align outputs with Basecamp's narrative.
• Cross-Functional Coordination & Process Improvement: plan and execute cross-functional initiatives with Global Research, Data Science, and Science teams; align with TPM; identify bottlenecks and implement efficient processes.
• Promote knowledge sharing; document learnings and project updates; oversee tooling and infrastructure to prevent fragmentation and ensure teams have the right platforms.
