Job summary

Syngenta Crop Protection, Jealott’s Hill, near Bracknell, is seeking a scientific leader to drive QSAR modelling and expert knowledge rule-based systems on a global scale. You will own the global strategy for (Q)SAR and lead a dispersed team of computational toxicologists while aligning with regulatory requirements across geographies.

Qualifications

• Degree in a scientific discipline with a strong mechanistic chemistry foundation.
• Proven track record of effective technical or people leadership of a group of technical staff.
• Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity with internal and external stakeholders, including contract research organisations.
• Capability to comply with regional and global requirements and deliver to defined standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead a toxicology team responsible for design, delivery and interpretation of QSAR assessments, driving methodological innovation.
• Collaborate with global teams to deliver fit-for-purpose, regulatory-aligned approaches.
• Act as an expert for regulatory challenges and development of technical strategies.
• Manage and resolve issues with study delivery and stakeholder management.
• Ensure data delivery meets time, cost and quality targets; provide technical leadership.
• Develop techno-regulatory strategies and advocate science-led positions to stakeholders.
• Support training and development of team members within Syngenta’s values.
