Arrive seeks a Director of Quality Assurance - Transport to lead an end-to-end global QA program across hardware, software and payment solutions for ABT, TVMs, and open-payment middleware. London-based hybrid role guiding a cross-functional quality organization and coordinating with auditors and SI partners.

You will drive rigorous testing, CAPA, and compliance strategies, maintaining high uptime and secure deployments while mentoring a global team of QA engineers and field auditors.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive quality assurance and quality engineering experience, including 7+ years in a senior executive leadership role overseeing integrated hardware, software, and payment solutions.
• Deep AFC and public transit domain expertise, with technical familiarity spanning station TVM hardware, Account-Based Ticketing (ABT), cEMV open payments, validators, and driver consoles.
• Lifecycle hardware and software quality literacy, demonstrated through hands-on experience managing physical hardware standards (IPC, ISO 9001, CE/UL, environmental stress testing) alongside cloud software QA (CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, API validation, performance/load testing).
• Unattended payment and security compliance mastery, including direct experience navigating PCI-DSS, cEMV terminal pre-certifications, merchant acquirer testing, and physical/digital security standards for transit payment terminals.
• Vendor and supply chain quality governance experience, with a proven track record of conducting supplier quality audits, managing contract manufacturers, and establishing incoming (IQC) and outgoing (OQC) quality control gates.
• Proven process excellence capabilities, with deep familiarity or certification in Six Sigma, Lean, or ISO quality methodologies, using defect analytics and CAPA processes to eliminate repeat failure modes and achieve strict SLA metrics (e.g., 99.99%+ uptime, MTBF targets).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a unified global QA framework for hardware, software, and payment systems across regions.
• Establish QC standards and testing for TVMs, validators, and driver consoles, including environmental and ruggedization tests.
• Lead QA for ABT/back-office software, open-payments middleware, and PCI-compliant payment gateways with high-availability targets.
• Ensure hardware, software and integrations meet RFPs and SLAs, including MTBF and uptime metrics.
• Oversee regulatory, security and certification testing for PCI-DSS, cEMV, ADA accessibility, and other standards.
• Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers, and field teams for FAT, SAT, and factory audits.
• Define SAT/checklists for field technicians and SI partners to ensure operational readiness.
• Act as gatekeeper for software releases and hardware runs with Go/No-Go reviews.
• Implement CAPA processes to drive continuous product improvements.
• Lead and grow a global QA organization spanning hardware, software, and field quality.
