About the Role
This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract with the potential to be extended.
Footballco is working with a number of high profile brands around the FIFA 2026 World Cup and is looking for a highly experienced Client Services specialist to steer the ship on one of our biggest clients for the next twelve months.
As our Global Project Lead, you will be the driving force in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the client’s digital and social activation around the World Cup, ensuring the successful execution and delivery of the campaign. The role will be multifaceted with responsibility to manage stakeholder relationships globally - including with our partner agencies and FIFA.
What You'll be doing:
- Lead a multi-functional team across a truly global project, activating what will be one of the biggest campaigns around the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
- Build strong relationships with key clients, agencies and peers within the client’s wider brand marketing team. Become the go to person for digital & social football activity & an extension of the brand.
- Lead all internal Footballco stakeholders - including the core client team across editorial, product, creative and finance teams - to define project objectives, deliverables, and key milestones.
- Set expectations, drive KPIs and optimise the wider Footballco digital output ensuring success, brand requirements are met and feedback is properly addressed.
- Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets for various initiatives related to the client’s activation.
- Collaborate with external agencies, vendors, and partners to ensure seamless execution of the projects, ensuring standards remain high across the board.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential opportunities and proactively take actions to keep the campaign on track to exceed target. Establish and maintain effective communication channels to ensure all stakeholders are informed about project status, updates, issues and changes.
- Create and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensure cost-effectiveness. Deploy internal resources where possible and bring in external support when necessary.
- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with project execution and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively assess project risks, such as scope creep, timeline constraints, and resource limitations, and implement contingency plans as needed.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate project performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare regular progress reports, project documentation, and status updates for internal and external stakeholders. Conduct post-project reviews, capturing lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
- Oversee the distribution roll-out of the client’s activation across digital, social and OTT in multiple markets across the globe.
What You Have:
- At least eight years’ experience working in client services or similar account management roles, preferably within football and the wider media industry and in connection to agencies, rights holders and/or brands.
- Tangible leadership experience of managing large teams across global projects of this nature.
- Experience of overseeing high level productions, working to create best-in-class digital and social content for the biggest brands in football
- Strong understanding of how brands activate sponsorship campaigns on digital platforms (O&O), social and OTT.
- An understanding of the global football landscape, especially in relation to the FIFA World Cup or a proven track record of adapting quickly to become encyclopaedic on subjects in an unfamiliar role (for candidates who don’t have strong football knowledge)
- Willingness to travel frequently for a significant amount of production shoots that will be taking place over the next 12 months around the globe.
- The ability and flexibility to work across multiple timezones. Our clients on this project are based in N. America and APAC so there will be a requirement to join calls at times outside standard UK working hours when required.
- Experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Proficient in project management tools and software.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Can craft presentations to explain plans, performance and more to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of content publishing and how social analytics tools can be used to optimise brand awareness, consideration, conversion and loyalty.
- Outstanding leadership skills, capable of guiding and motivating project teams towards successful project delivery. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- A self-starting and professional attitude that inspires your colleagues, building trust with client stakeholders in your publishing and strategy.
