In your role, you will be responsible for the design, adoption, and maintenance of the Global Payroll Process. You’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:

  • Design, embed, and continually improve standard payroll processes with effective controls
  • Engage and partner with stakeholders across the employee pay cycle to ensure alignment and seamless transfer to and from the payroll process
  • Define and maintain process and control standards documentation, including building process level controls to ensure a strong internal controls environment
  • Responsible for Payroll RACMs
  • Responsible for reviewing operational controls against SOX requirements
  • Oversee audits and exploratory sessions of the operational payroll process and statutory requirements
  • Serve as SME for Primark’s global payroll processes, building strong relationships with market teams and stakeholders
  • Standardise and optimise global payroll processes and governance
  • Influence payroll partner strategy to meet global process requirements
  • Promote best practices globally
  • Provide SME input and approval for global changes, acting as payroll eyes in cross-functional BAU and project change
  • Ensure adherence to global standards, maintaining alignment across markets
  • Maintain a holistic view of change across all markets
  • Represent payroll on global change forums and steering committees

Qualifications and experience:

  • Several years of global payroll experience
  • 7+ years of people management experience
  • Hands-on problem-solving approach
  • Excellent knowledge of GDPR and payroll data compliance
  • Proven ability to work under deadlines and pressure
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Self-sufficient in completing tasks and keeping the team informed
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, payroll expertise
  • Leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to influence and foster positive cross-functional relationships
  • Experience managing multiple vendor relationships
  • Strong analytical skills to define problems and recommend solutions
  • Project management experience
  • Exposure to SOX compliance
