Job summary

Reed Exhibitions is seeking a Head of Privacy and Data Protection to support the Chief Privacy Officer in developing a Privacy Centre of Excellence. This global role coordinates privacy compliance with business objectives across regions and leads a team of privacy SMEs.

The position requires strong commercial awareness and collaboration with senior leaders, legal counsel, and risk owners. A recognised privacy certification and a formal degree are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data protection and privacy law in commercial settings.
• Proven track record designing privacy, risk, governance and training programs.
• Experience applying privacy principles across marketing, sales, e-commerce, and digital platforms.
• Fluency in English; second language desirable.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Maintain global privacy strategy and programme aligned with legal and commercial needs.
• Review Data Protection Impact Assessments and ensure safeguards applied globally.
• Provide timely privacy advice and training to the business.
• Lead Privacy Risk and Governance Programme and accountability.
• Mentor privacy SMEs and deliver practical guidance.
• Oversee Global Rights Centre and handle rights requests.
• Develop Privacy Training and Awareness Programme.
• Update privacy assessment tools and compliance packs.
