Job summary

KLA in Newport, UK is seeking an experienced multidisciplinary engineer to support Platform semiconductor handling hardware at customer sites, focusing on integration, diagnostics and design feedback.

You will travel up to 50% internationally, collaborate across engineering teams, deliver to tight deadlines in a regulated industry, and contribute to reliability and maintainability of new products.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC Electrical/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics.
• Manufacturing experience with continuous improvement.
• Customer facing experience desirable.
• Knowledge of machinery safety and safe working practices.
• Experience diagnosing faults with an analytical mind.
• AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent; 3D CAD desirable.
• Good MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain development and continuous improvement of Platform semiconductor handling hardware.
• Support new hardware designs through build, integration, fault-finding, and PLC readiness.
• Lead installation, commissioning, and technical resolution of new products at customer sites.
• Travel internationally up to 50% to support critical customer engagements and resolve complex issues.
• Translate customer requirements and factory learnings into design improvements.
• Shape technical responses to customer specifications and system-wide requirements.
• Define robust design specs aligning needs, strategy and standards.
• Champion serviceability, reliability and maintainability in new designs.
