Job summary

KLA Newport, United Kingdom, is seeking an experienced Platform Equipment Field Installation and Applications Engineer to support installation, commissioning and service at customer sites across Europe. The role requires strong electrical, mechanical and software knowledge, with international travel up to 50% and a focus on reliability and maintainability.

The ideal candidate will hold an HNC in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics, have manufacturing experience, and be comfortable in a

Qualifications

Minimum HNC in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics.
Experience in manufacturing with focus on continuous improvement.
Customer-facing experience desirable.
Understanding of machinery safety and safe working practices.
Experience diagnosing faults with an analytical mind.
AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent experience.
3D CAD experience is desirable.
Good MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

Lead installation, commissioning, and technical resolution of new products at customer sites.
Travel internationally up to 50% to support customer engagements and resolve issues.
Translate customer requirements into design improvements and system requirements.
Define robust design specifications aligning customer needs with engineering standards.
Ensure machine performance and safety compliance with standards.
Produce technical reports supporting decision-making and risk management.
