Job summary

JGA Recruitment Group Ltd is partnering with a leading international business to recruit a Payroll Accounting Specialist to join their growing payroll function in Cambridge.

The role focuses on payroll journals and reconciliations, month-end activities and financial controls. You will work with Payroll and Finance teams, handling queries, accruals and reporting, with opportunities to study ACCA or CIMA.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll, payroll accounting or finance.
• Strong experience with payroll journals and reconciliations.
• Understanding of month-end processes, accruals and prepayments.
• Studying ACCA or CIMA.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience in medium to large international organisation would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Processing and reviewing payroll journals accurately and within deadlines.
• Managing queries relating to payroll journals and accounting.
• Completing monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Supporting month-end activities, including accruals and prepayments.
• Posting payroll and benefits invoices.
• Supporting group, parent and subsidiary audits.
• Investigating discrepancies and resolving payroll accounting queries.
• Supporting ad hoc reporting, including PSA, STBV and Gender Pay Gap reporting.
• Working closely with Payroll, Finance and wider internal stakeholders.
