Job summary

HSBC in London is seeking an experienced Cross-Functional Design Programme Manager to lead end-to-end programmes within Global Payments Solutions. You will align Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Data and Architecture to deliver customer-centred, controlled outcomes and establish governance, dependencies and decisions across workstreams.

Qualifications

• Proven delivery of complex cross-functional design or transformation programmes in financial services.
• Strong governance, risk, reporting, and benefits realisation experience.
• Ability to integrate customer, business, operations, technology, data, and control perspectives into end‑to‑end designs.
• Understanding of payments, customer journeys and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Own programme scope, plans, milestones, dependencies, resources, risks, and outcomes.
• Set governance, escalation routes, and delivery standards aligned to strategy and regulation.
• Coordinate cross-functional delivery from discovery to implementation, resolving dependencies.
• Provide decision-ready reporting and recommendations to sponsors and senior stakeholders.
• Build trusted relationships across business, technology, operations, risk, data, and architecture.
• Drive timely decisions, resolve trade-offs, and create shared accountability across workstreams.
• Communicate clearly with executive, delivery, and specialist audiences.
• Track KPIs, benefits, milestones, risks, issues, decisions, and design quality.
