Job summary

OKA is seeking a Packaging Technologist to lead packaging across our furniture and homewares ranges, ensuring protection, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency and sustainability. You will work with overseas teams, global suppliers and UK warehouses to set standards, provide guidance and manage packaging testing throughout product development and production.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in packaging development in furniture/homeware.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, testing methods and logistics.
• Experience with EPR reporting and packaging waste compliance.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, specify and approve packaging for all products to ensure protection, quality and brand consistency.
• Act as packaging SME for overseas Central Services teams, providing clear guides and standards.
• Create and control packaging specifications, drawings and documentation across all SKUs.
• Support new product development by embedding packaging standards from the start.
• Conduct supplier packaging audits to ensure compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with global suppliers and warehouses to ensure packaging compliance and optimization.
