Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable network connectivity solutions across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. You will drive technical strategy, mentor engineers, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver highly available and secure systems.

The role requires deep telecom and cloud networking expertise, with a focus on resilience, governance, and cost efficiency, negotiated with internal stakeholders and external providers.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and applied experience.
• Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including compute, storage, and networking services.
• Deep knowledge of networking and telecommunications technologies (Layers 0-3), including dark fiber, DWDM, Ethernet, IP-VPN.
• Demonstrated expertise in the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa telecom connectivity market, regional ecosystems and offerings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across business and technical domains.
• Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured requirements capture with business and technology stakeholders; translate connectivity needs, constraints, and non-functional requirements into well-defined solution requirements.
• Develop end-to-end connectivity designs aligned to approved architectural patterns and reference architectures, producing high-level and low-level designs, network diagrams, implementation constraints, and documented assumptions.
• Own the full tender and bid lifecycle for telecom connectivity solutions, including bid documentation, coordination of RFI/RFP activities, evaluation, and vendor rationale.
• Embed resilience and operational risk controls into all designs, including diversity, single points of failure elimination, monitoring requirements, and escalation models.
• Lead design reviews and architecture governance; manage design exceptions with risk acceptance and adherence to standards.
• Design and implement scalable, resilient infrastructure architectures that support business-critical applications and services.
• Collaborate with telecom providers, vendors, and internal teams across the bid and design lifecycle to ensure viable, deliverable solutions.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance governance, SLAs, and continuous improvement activities.
• Support regional/global network strategy, mentor junior engineers, and stay current with market trends.
• Uses AI capabilities to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation while maintaining security requirements.
