Job summary

Rentokil Initial Group is seeking a Network Engineer (EMEA & APAC) based in Crawley, England. The role focuses on maintaining, optimizing, and securing enterprise network infrastructure across regional data centers and branch offices.

It combines NetOps incident resolution with engineering projects, including SD-WAN migrations and Cloud Security rollouts. The engineer will lead remote provisioning, provide technical guidance to field teams, and implement network designs from Global Architecture.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regional NetOps or Network Engineering role.
• Strong working knowledge of IT governance, compliance, and ITIL frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary escalation point for the Level 1 NOC.
• Diagnose performance bottlenecks, latency issues, and outages to maintain high availability.
• Lead remote staging, configuration, and provisioning of branch networking hardware.
• Provide remote technical leadership during rack-and-stack, cabling, and patching phases.
• Implement network designs from Global Network Architecture teams.
• Execute SD-WAN and SASE deployments.
• Perform lifecycle patching, firmware updates, and vulnerability remediation.
• Monitor telemetry to identify performance degradation before impact.

Job description

The Network Engineer (EMEA & APAC) is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing enterprise network infrastructure across virtual regional data centers and physical branch offices. Operating within an ITIL-driven framework, this role balances Network Operations (NetOps) tier-2/3 incident resolution with Network Engineering project delivery, including SD-WAN migrations and Cloud Security rollouts.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for the Level 1 Network Operations Center (NOC).
• Diagnose complex network performance bottlenecks, latency issues, and outages to maintain high availability.

Infrastructure Deployment & Branch Engineering

• Lead remote staging, configuration, and provisioning of branch networking hardware.
• Provide remote technical leadership to field engineers during physical rack-and-stack, cabling, and patching phases.

Project Engineering & Cloud Migrations

• Implement network designs provided by Global Network Architecture teams.
• Execute enterprise rollouts for Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture.

Network Security & Compliance

• Execute lifecycle patching, firmware updates, and vulnerability remediation across all network hardware.
• Conduct automated and manual configuration audits to ensure 100% compliance with enterprise security baselines.

Proactive Maintenance & Capacity Planning

• Monitor network telemetry and system health to identify and resolve performance degradation before impact.

Technical Stack & Hardware Profile

• Routing & Switching: Cisco Switches, Aruba Switching, VeloCloud SD-WAN, BGP, OSPF
• Wireless (WLAN): Aruba Wireless, Aerohive Access Points, Wi‑Fi 6
• Core Network Services: DNS, DHCP, Proxy Servers, IPAM

Qualifications & Certifications

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional experience in a regional Network Operations (NetOps) or Network Engineering role.
• Strong working knowledge of enterprise IT governance, compliance, and ITIL frameworks.

Preferred Certifications

• Networking: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+, or Aruba Certified Switching Associate (ASCA).
