Hill Robinson is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Technical Procurement Officer to oversee and complete day-to-day purchasing and shipping activities. You will source products from a vetted supplier base and ensure procurement processes are followed from requisition through to dispatch and delivery worldwide.

The role requires collaboration with marine and technical teams, strong knowledge of ERP systems, and a commitment to IMO standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Marine Engineering or Business Administration.
• Experience: 3–5 years of technical purchasing in the maritime/shipping sector.
• Knowledge: Ship machinery, engine components, and deck/engine stores.
• Software: Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Mariapps, Amos/Link Maritime) and MS Excel.
• Soft skills: Cross-cultural communication, problem-solving, and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day purchasing and shipping activities.
• Source from vetted suppliers and manage requisitions.
• Ensure procurement processes from requisition to dispatch.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs.
• Analyse procurement data for trends and improvements.
• Arrange collection and shipping of orders and ensure final delivery.
• Negotiate terms, volume discounts, and lead times to match vessel schedules.
• Ensure compliance with IMO standards and flag rules.
