Caliber8 Recruitment is assisting a reputable shipping company in recruiting a Head of Marine and Vetting to be based in the UK. This senior leadership role requires oversight of a large fleet and management of multiple teams.

You will oversee marine operations, vetting, and regulatory compliance, lead the Marine Operations team, and collaborate with Masters, owners, charterers, and agents to optimise performance and minimize delays. Strong leadership and vetting experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of maritime experience with significant shore-based operational experience.
• Experience overseeing large fleets and senior leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of vessel operations, port and cargo operations.

Responsabilités

• Lead and oversee marine operations across the owned fleet globally.
• Provide operational guidance and support to Masters and vessel teams.
• Monitor vessel movements, port calls, cargo operations and overall operational performance.
• Coordinate with owners, charterers, agents and terminals to resolve operational issues.
• Oversee voyage planning, vessel readiness, bunkering and port operations.
• Monitor operational KPIs, delays, off-hire and vessel performance.
• Lead and develop the Marine Operations team and drive continuous improvement.
