Job summary
SRT Marine Systems plc in Bristol is seeking an IT Systems and Network Engineer to install, configure and commission complex network servers and related systems for maritime surveillance. The role covers ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting and documentation across multiple sites.
You will travel globally for projects (up to 12 weeks in-country, 2 weeks home), and train customer IT departments to operate the systems day-to-day.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of network IT system setup and management experience
- Professional English language, spoken and written
- Deep understanding of IT networks and server configurations (Windows/Linux, DNS, VPN)
- Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) advantageous
- Strong IT security knowledge and data protection practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
Responsibilities
- Configuration and deployment of networked servers, storage, network hardware and related software
- Check and validate installations, and provide reports
- Configuration and troubleshooting of connectivity systems
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot and implement patches/ replacements
- Support and train customer internal IT departments to take operational ownership
- Maintain good document trails of system changes and updates
