Job summary

HireWise is assisting a long-established global manufacturer in Tamworth, near Birmingham, to recruit an HR Generalist. The role provides UK-wide HR support within a multinational structure, ensuring local practices comply with employment law while aligning with global policies and people strategies.

The successful candidate will have 3–4 years' generalist experience and an HR qualification; CIPD or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field.
• 3-4 years in a generalist capacity.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent (preferred).
• Continuous professional development in employment law (preferred).
• Ability to operate within a matrix, multi-country HR structure.
• Strong communication, advisory, and organisational skills.
• Experience supporting employee relations in a corporate or multinational environment.
• Experience working with HRIS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes in coordination with global HR teams.
• Administer employment contracts, probation reviews, and employee documentation in line with Irish employment law.
• Manage exit processes and conduct exit interviews.
• Act as a first point of contact for employee relations queries.
• Advise managers on disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence management matters.
• Support investigations and hearings as required.
• Ensure HR policies comply with local employment legislation.
• Maintain employee data in compliance with EU GDPR and corporate data governance standards.
• Support payroll administration, statutory leave, and benefits coordination.
• Assist with learning, training, and employee engagement programmes aligned with global HR priorities.
• Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
• Prepare HR metrics and management reports for local and regional stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with regional and global HR teams to ensure consistency of HR practices.
