Job summary

Amgen seeks a Senior Director of Observational Research to provide global strategic leadership for Observational Research in Clinical Operations. You will shape the operating model, capabilities, and portfolio priorities, ensuring high-quality, compliant delivery of evidence for product development and patient outcomes.

You will lead the global strategy, oversee governance and budgets, and establish partnerships with Product Teams and external CROs/service providers to drive portfolio execution.

Qualifications

• Degree educated.
• Extensive experience in clinical research/operations and real-world evidence.
• Proven leadership of global clinical operations and portfolios.
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate objectives into plans.
• People leadership and talent development experience.
• Understanding of GCP and regulatory standards.
• Experience with budgets, governance, and external partnerships.
• Proven ability to lead organizational transformation and drive innovation.

Responsibilities

• Lead global observational research operations strategy and execution.
• Translate evidence generation strategies into scalable delivery models.
• Set portfolio priorities, governance, budgets, and vendor strategy.
• Establish partnerships with Product Teams, CfOR, GDO, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Develop the Observational Research function and workforce planning.
• Drive quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across processes.
• Represent the function in senior leadership forums to influence decisions.
