Canonical is seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead risk controls, policy governance and robust financial reporting across global operations. You will guide system enhancements, ensure IFRS-compliant processes, and partner with auditors and stakeholders worldwide.

The role balances strategic leadership with hands-on month-end close and data integrity. You will contribute to AI-enabled finance workflows, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior staff while supporting

Qualifications

Must be professionally qualified in accounting/finance with IFRS expertise.
Extensive practical IFRS knowledge and experience across finance functions.
Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement robust controls to mitigate process risks.
Lead policy/procedure improvements to support scalable growth.
Drive adoption of finance policies and monitor compliance.
Support multi-functional change projects for systems, processes, data accuracy.
Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, management accounts, and statutory reporting.
Ensure accurate recording and robust accounting records across the company.
Uphold governance and approval processes; manage external audits.
Stay abreast of evolving regulations and ensure regulatory compliance.
Lead finance system upgrades and sensible AI adoption in the team.
Build stakeholder relationships and handle confidential inquiries promptly.
Mentor junior staff and promote best practice across the team.
