Job summary

Modo Energy, a globally scaling data platform for the energy transition, seeks a Global Gas Analyst in London to design and own the gas analytics function from scratch. You’ll develop models, data, forecasts, and research to show clients how gas moves and impacts portfolios.

You’ll publish insights, engage with clients directly, and contribute to the Global Analytics group, reporting to the Director of European Product.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years’ experience in gas analytics, from a major commodities house or gas trading desk.
• Entrepreneurial, self-starter mindset with ability to build largely on your own.
• Strong data analytics and coding skills (Python; databases).
• Confident in client conversations and presenting analyses.

Responsibilities

• Build Modo's gas analytics capability from the ground up, including long-term forecasts and core datasets.
• Publish research and demonstrate the strength of your models to our audience.
• Engage directly with clients to explain gas market dynamics and implications for portfolios.
• Integrate gas insights into Modo’s regional power and storage models.
