Job summary

Azenta UK, Ltd. is seeking a Global Freight Procurement & RFQ Lead for a six-month contract based in Wotton, Surrey. You will diagnose global freight spend, challenge current arrangements and drive a robust RFQ/RFP process to identify cost and service improvements.

Close collaboration with Ops, Procurement, Finance and regional teams will shape the global freight strategy. You will map activities, benchmark pricing, develop evaluation models and present a clear business case with implementation

Qualifications

• Extensive freight procurement experience across multiple modes.
• Proven track record running RFQ/RFP processes from data prep to selection.
• Strong analytical skills to translate spend and performance data into decisions.

Responsibilities

• Map global freight activity, lanes, volumes and service requirements.
• Analyze spend, identify savings, and reduce rate leakage.
• Evaluate provider performance on cost, delivery reliability and service.
• Benchmark pricing and terms against external market.
• Develop RFQ/RFP strategy, data packs and scoring criteria.
• Lead supplier Q&A, bid clarifications and commercial comparisons.
• Build a business case with cost savings and implementation plan.
• Recommend provider options and transition roadmap, with governance.
