Job summary

HKA is seeking a highly credible Fire Engineering specialist, ideally at Director or Principal Consultant level, to join our Forensic Technical Services team. You will lead fire engineering analysis in complex disputes and collaborate with expert witnesses to prepare reports and forensic analyses.

You will advise clients on fire safety regulations and contribute to the development of the FTS practice, mentoring colleagues and driving innovation in fire engineering consultancy.

Qualifications

• A degree in Fire Engineering or a closely related discipline with 10+ years in consultancy.
• Deep knowledge of UK fire regulations, codes and standards.
• Experience acting as a testifying expert or supporting expert witnesses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical analysis on fire engineering issues in complex disputes.
• Collaborate with Expert Witnesses on reports and forensic analysis.
• Advise clients on fire safety regulations, codes and standards.
• Provide peer review and ensure output quality.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to practice development.
• Help drive innovation in fire engineering consultancy.
