Job summary

Harmony Fire Ltd. is seeking a Principal Fire Engineer to act as the technical authority for its London Consultancy, leading the most complex fire engineering commissions and setting the standard for quality and methodology.

You will mentor senior and junior engineers, manage high‑level client relationships with housing associations and local authorities, contribute to bids, and help evolve the team’s approach to FRAEW, PAS 9980 and wider fire safety guidance.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in fire engineering or related field.
• Chartered membership with IFE/RICS/CIOB.
• Proven leadership and mentoring of fire engineers.
• Experience delivering FRAEW and PAS 9980 at scale.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for Harmony’s London Consultancy team — sign-off on complex fire reports.
• Lead and deliver FRAEW and fire engineering commissions in line with PAS 9980.
• Maintain technical quality standards across the team and ensure client-ready outputs.
• Mentor Senior and Junior Fire Engineers and develop the team.
• Represent Harmony with housing associations, local authorities, developers and managing agents.
• Support business development through bids, proposals and client meetings.
• Monitor Building Safety Act, PAS 9980, and related guidance to evolve methodology.
• Contribute to consultancy processes, templates and quality assurance frameworks.
• Represent Harmony externally at industry bodies and forums.
