Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Global Procurement Category Lead - External Manufacturing to drive strategic sourcing for CMOs across the globe. You will develop procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure cost-effective sourcing of contract manufacturing services to support global operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Progressive experience in global procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, specifically focused on external manufacturing.
• Proven track record of success in leading complex negotiations, managing large spend categories, and delivering significant cost savings.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems (e.g., ISO 13485, GMP), and regulatory requirements in healthcare.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute global sourcing strategies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP Ariba) and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to travel globally as required.

Responsibilities

• Developing, implement, and manage global procurement strategies for external manufacturing categories and CMOs.
• Lead complex negotiations with key suppliers to secure favorable terms and SLAs.
• Conduct market analysis, supplier evaluations, and risk assessments.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with external manufacturing partners.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Finance teams.
• Drive supplier performance management with regular reviews and KPI tracking.
• Identify and implement best practices to optimize procurement efficiency.
• Manage the contract lifecycle for external manufacturing agreements, ensuring compliance.
• Lead strategic projects on supplier consolidation, dual-sourcing, and resiliency.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technology, and geopolitical factors.
