Job summary

Rutherford is seeking an Employment Legal Counsel to support its growing international workforce. This hands-on role sits with the People team and senior leadership to navigate UK and cross-border employment matters.

You will advise on day-to-day issues, manage complex ER cases, support litigation with external counsel, draft agreements and policies, and help scale employment processes as the business expands internationally.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years' PQE in employment law.
• UK-qualified employment lawyer with strong ER experience.
• Experience handling international matters.
• Commercial, pragmatic and solutions oriented.

Responsibilities

• Advise on day-to-day UK and international employment matters
• Manage and advise on complex employee relations (ER) cases
• Support employment litigation and disputes, working with external counsel where required
• Partner closely with People Partners and HR on employee matters and risk
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, policies and related documentation
• Advise on performance, disciplinary, grievance and termination matters
• Support employment matters arising from international expansion
• Help develop scalable employment policies and processes as the business grows
