Job summary

Rutherford is seeking an Employment Legal Counsel to support its growing international workforce. The role works closely with the People team and senior leadership on a broad range of UK and international employment matters.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years' PQE as a UK-qualified employment lawyer with strong experience in ER and litigation, and the ability to partner directly with People Partners, HR, and senior stakeholders. Prior experience in fast-growth tech or infrastructure is preferred.

• Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-oriented mindset.
• Able to work independently with a varied workload.

Responsibilities

• Advise on day-to-day UK and international employment matters.
• Manage and advise on complex employee relations (ER) cases.
• Support employment litigation and disputes, with external counsel where required.
• Partner with People Partners and HR on employee matters and risk.
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, policies and related documentation.
• Advise on performance, disciplinary, grievance and termination matters.
• Support employment matters arising from international expansion.
• Help develop scalable employment policies and processes as the business grows.
