Job summary

Building Design Partnership Limited (BDP) in Manchester seeks a Design Manager to lead design and project management on a permanent, full-time basis from our Manchester studio. You will work on global projects with multidisciplinary international teams, coordinating design processes and commercial delivery to achieve excellent outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience of building design processes and project management with commercial awareness.
• Strong communication and people skills within design/client teams.
• Commercial awareness with ability to interpret contractual documentation.
• Strong mathematical and data analysis skills.
• Familiar with project planning software such as Microsoft Project.
• Strong organisational skills to juggle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and program design projects.
• Internally and externally manage commercial aspects.
• Coordinate resources across design disciplines and sectors.
• Procure and manage supply chain activities.
• Define scope and deliverables; monitor progress and reporting.
• Collaborate with project directors to manage quality and controls.
• Assist with appointment and fee negotiation.
