Job summary

Monex is seeking a Data Protection Officer based in Manchester to provide independent privacy oversight across international operations. You will mature the governance framework, manage DPIAs, ROPAs and data subject rights, and liaise with Legal, Compliance and IT to embed privacy by design.

The role covers UK, EU, Canada, USA and Singapore with regulatory liaison and incident response responsibility. You will ensure compliance with UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and relevant privacy laws across

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience in data protection governance.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and EU GDPR.
• Ability to lead cross-functional privacy initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own and mature the global data protection governance framework across Monex’s operations.
• Lead DPIAs, Privacy Impact Assessments, and related data protection reviews.
• Create and maintain Records of Processing Activities (ROPAs), data inventories and transfer mechanisms.
• Advise on global personal data breach governance and regulatory notification requirements.
• Support privacy by design with technology, product, procurement and operations teams.
• Coordinate responses with Legal, Compliance and regional specialists as needed.
