Job summary

Monex is seeking a skilled Data Protection Officer based in Manchester, UK, with global responsibilities across the UK, EU, Canada, USA and Singapore. The role focuses on maturing the data protection governance framework, DPIAs, ROPAs and breach governance, while ensuring regulatory compliance and privacy by design.

The DPO will collaborate with Legal, Compliance and IT teams to implement robust data protection controls across multiple jurisdictions and client types.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in data protection governance, privacy compliance or information governance.
• Deep working knowledge of UK GDPR and EU GDPR and related legislation.
• Strong ability to liaise with regulators and supervisory authorities and translate legal requirements into practical controls.

Responsibilities

• Act as Data Protection Officer for Monex entities, ensuring independence and direct access to senior management.
• Provide expert guidance on GDPR, data protection law and privacy requirements across jurisdictions.
• Lead DPIAs, ROPAs, data breach governance and data subject rights processes.
• Maintain and improve global data protection policies, training, and governance reporting.
• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance and IT teams to embed privacy by design in projects.
