Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Operations Manager in Slough to lead third‑party data center facilities. You will oversee complex electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, coordinate across global teams, and mentor junior staff.

Travel and nonstandard shifts are expected in a fast‑paced, technically demanding environment. You will drive cost efficiency, safety compliance, and reliability, ensuring high operational standards and quick recovery from incidents while advancing strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 9 years of experience working in mission critical facility maintenance and operations.
• Ability to work non-standard hours and differing work rotations/shifts.
• Ability to communicate in English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Drive efforts to test, validate, improve, and certify new processes and procedures for critical complex equipment operation for data center domain of expertise.
• Lead efforts to perform compliance activities for a data center and analyze compliance results for data centers globally.
• Drive efforts to monitor data center systems operations, control site activities to minimize risk, and to ensure effective response to any excursions.
• Drive efforts to ensure sites are following facility, maintenance, and standard programs globally while exhibiting strength in improvement to said policies and programs.
• Lead the development of strategies to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact at a site.
