Job summary

LGC is seeking a hands-on Head of Cyber Security Operations to lead and evolve our global security capabilities. In this high-profile role, you’ll work directly with the CISO, shaping strategy, incident response, threat detection and vulnerability management across our international sites.

You will build and mentor a high-performing team, drive improvements in tooling and automation, and translate technical risks into clear business priorities.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading cyber security operations within a complex and/or international organisation.
• Experience leading or redefining a SOC, including working with managed security service providers.
• Strong technical knowledge across SIEM, threat detection, incident response, threat intelligence, threat hunting and security engineering.
• Experience handling major cyber incidents and confidently advising senior executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape cyber security operations, driving improvements across threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and operational resilience.
• Drive SOC performance, managing the outsourced SOC partnership and ensuring capability, processes and technology to stay ahead of threats.
• Be the technical authority during major cyber incidents, guiding senior collaborators through complex challenges.
• Hands on with security tools and technologies, involved in technical investigations and improvements to strengthen security capabilities.
• Influence at the highest level by translating technical risks into clear business priorities for senior leaders.
• Shape the security strategy by defining the cyber security roadmap and investment priorities.
