Job summary

The Communications Manager at the University of Birmingham will shape and deliver media engagement strategies spanning research, innovation and education to enhance the University's global reputation. You will identify opportunities, build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and lead communications across channels.

With extensive experience in communications craft, you will guide content development, manage agencies, and support senior leaders with media briefing materials

Qualifications

Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in communications or related field.
Substantial experience in a Communications/Press/PR role in a large organisation.
Proven ability to devise and deliver multi-channel strategic communications plans.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver creative, multi-channel media engagement activities and campaigns.
Collaborate with Colleges, ER and external partners to increase impact.
Log activity in planning tools and participate in news gathering.
Lead on audience insight and evaluating performance against targets.
Build relationships with media, policymakers and external stakeholders.
