Global Clinical Strategy Lead (Sports Medicine)

About the Role

At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. We are seeking a Clinical Strategy expert to join our collaborative team. Your efforts will accelerate the global introduction and adoption of new products, ensure the sustained availability of approved devices, and adhere to regulatory standards.

You will serve as the Global Clinical Strategy (GCS) representative for the Sports Medicine team, providing strategic clinical direction throughout the product lifecycle. Your focus will be on ensuring the evidence for our portfolio meets requirements for new product launches, expanded adoption, and continued access.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop clinical strategies aligned with Smith+Nephew's commercial priorities for Sports Medicine products.
• Collaborate with NPD teams to establish user needs, claims, indications, and market strategies; develop evidence generation strategies.
• Review and identify gaps in clinical and health economic evidence from literature, registries, and unpublished studies.
• Develop study proposals, initiate clinical activities, and coordinate with investigators and sites.
• Manage investigator-initiated studies, collaborative research, and real-world data collection to meet objectives.
• Maintain and review clinical strategy documentation supporting the product lifecycle.
• Analyze data, develop reports, and ensure stakeholder communication.
• Generate publication strategies and present progress/results.
• Attend professional conferences and surgeon training labs as appropriate.

Qualifications for Success

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in clinical research, strategy development for clinical evidence, and working with healthcare professionals. A background in clinical study design is preferred. Experience with medical device software and sports medicine techniques is a plus.
