Job summary

Metso is seeking a Chief Structural Engineer to define the strategic direction for structural engineering across its mining and mineral processing equipment portfolio. The role emphasizes Bulk Material Handling heavy equipment, especially Car Dumpers, and requires senior expertise in FEA, welding, and design codes.

You will lead global teams, influence project execution, and ensure safety and reliability across global operations.

Qualifications

15+ years in structural design and analysis of heavy industrial equipment
Strong leadership of global engineering teams
Expertise in FEA and heavy welded structures
Deep knowledge of BMH equipment standards and codes
Experience coordinating with external FEA reviewers

Responsibilities

Define global vision for structural engineering and FEA across GBP product lines
Lead FEA modeling and sign-off for Car Dumpers and Stockyard Machines
Provide guidance to Product and Project Engineering teams
Develop and govern engineering guidelines and calculation methods
Drive R&D and digital twin initiatives in structural engineering
Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Lead root-cause analyses for field failures and deviations
