Job summary

Johnson Matthey in Devon is seeking a CAS Global Staff Scientist to advance catalysis and emissions-control technologies. You will design and lead research programs, manage budgets, and collaborate with global teams.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry or related field, or a relevant Bachelor's with industry experience.
• Strong technical expertise in heterogeneous catalysis.
• Hands-on experience in catalyst preparation and testing.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong planning and ability to manage complex research projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead IDEA and EVALUATE phase NPI workstreams aligned to CAS strategy and business objectives.
• Design research programmes to develop new catalysts, materials and emission control technologies.
• Manage project budgets, milestones, risks and phase reviews while ensuring effective stakeholder communication.
• Build strong partnerships across global development hubs, commercial teams, business development and operations.
• Support customer engagement through technical presentations, training and advanced catalyst system design guidance.
• Contribute to external collaborations, including university research programmes and future technology opportunities.
